Gingerbread Village

We finally got our gingerbread houses done. Macen loved working on them. He's even getting good with icing in the bag. It's always amazing to see his mind at work and see what he comes up with. He did bail on me by the time we started the big house. I also didn't have enough green mints to do the other side so we ended up with a two faced gingerbread house. Macen thought it was cool regardless.

Merry Christmas

Santa found the boys and I think they were thrilled with their gifts.

This is how our pictures went. Maddox wanted nothing to do with sitting still and wanted everything to do with chocolate. We persuaded him to lay down the m&m's in exchange for presents, lol.

Pictures still didn't get any better here. Haha!

The boys spent the day playing with their new toys and Macen pretty patiently waiting for us to start building the Star Wars and Ninjago Legos he got.

Opening Presents from Each Other

Macen loved his Transformers Rescue Bot Headquarters while Maddox got a Jake and the Neverland Pirates toy. The boys got me a 5lb chocolate! Good thing everyone in the house likes chocolate or it would take a long while for that bar to disappear. (Yes, even as much as I like chocolate). James got a Cowboys robot. Macen thought it was awesome too!

Christmas Cookies

James made sugar cookies and the boys helped decorate them. I'm pretty sure we have more sprinkles than anything on majority of the cookies, lol. They even made a couple of TIE Fighters, Millennium Falcon and an X Wing cookies. The Millennium Falcon and X Wing was left for Santa to eat.

Jingles has left the building

The boys came down with the flu for the 2nd time in less than 2 weeks. So Jingles left them a message in M&M's.

He left the boys pjs and slippers this morning and told them he was headed back to the North Pole to help Santa.

Maddox's First Snow

Maddox wasn't sure what to think of the snow at first. He did the same thing as he did with the sand - pull his legs up, refusing to stand in as we are lowering him to the ground. After a couple of tries he was fine with it. I think he even wanted to stay out in when Macen was ready to go inside. It's just my luck, he's okay with the snow but not the sand. Haha!

Both boys were sick yesterday so I am not sure Macen was even aware it had snowed. But once he had some energy today, he kept asking to go play in the snow. He had high hopes to build a snowman and make snow balls but the snow just wasn't sticking together. He settled for a snow angel and then was ready to go in.

17 Months

He LOVES Macen bike - has for months now. This is the first time he put the helmet on though and then climbed on the bike. He fully expects to be pushed around if he climbs on it.

Maddox putting a car up and down his pants. He didn't think it was so funny the first time and he couldn't get it out. Once I started laughing at him, he thought it was funny enough to do over and over.

Working on his fine motor skills.

Our silly little guy is keeping us entertained. He is saying new words like cool and stuck. And "mmmm" is spoken anytime a yummy food is presented. Maddox nearly has walking up and down stairs one foot/leg at a time mastered especially if it's just a few steps. He is as busy as ever and we love watching him go, go, go.

Jingles has been busy

Jingles went for a ride in a roll of toilet paper. He lept through the bannister and rolled down the stairs.

Watching the boys from Macen's underwear.

Macen passed his flu to Jingles so we found him like this right before we left for Cancun.

Silly elf! He trapped the boys in their rooms. How Macen saw this in the dark I have no idea but he managed to go under the very bottom one to get in and out of his room before he was officially able to get up for the morning. Jingles' assistant wondered after she had done it all how she was going to get in Maddox's room if he woke during the night. He has been waking frequently and she thought she had just made the middle of the night wakings more difficult for herself, lol. Thankfully it was a night of peaceful sleep for everyone.

Cancun, Mexico

A Cancun sunrise!

The view from our balcony. In the far bottom corner there was a decent sized heated pool we spent the most time in. Macen loved it and Maddox was able to walk around in it as well.

Maddox did not like the sand at all ...or at least he didn't want to be sitting or standing in it.

This was the only way Maddox would play in the sand, lol.

Macen spent a good amount of time looking for seashells. We came home with some great ones!

"We are the people our parents warned us about" is what the sign says. We were highly amused and loved our time (and drinks) at Margaritaville.

We got a glimpse of what the teenage years will be like - Macen wanted nothing to do with us once he discover the Kids Club. The first afternoon he went and the second time I went to check on him, he was not happy, exclaiming "You keep coming back". The next day he spent most of the day there except when James pulled him out for lunch. They did all kinds of activities with them from games, wii to activities on the resort such as the waterpark.

The main reason we picked this resort! Macen loved it!

Jingles even found the boys in Cancun and left them souvenirs.

What a trip for us! Macen threw up the entire day before we left. He made it through the night without incident so we hopped on the plane. James and I were on edge if he would throw up but he did fine. But...Maddox threw up just as we landed in Cancun. Turns out it was just from being too hot and not from catching what Macen had. I tried to keep him in the room after we got the resort since we weren't sure but he knew Macen was in the pool and that is where he wanted to be. We had several more incidents over the next couple of days with each of them throwing up from foods they didn't like. And then Maddox started throwing up Wednesday night from having what Macen had before we left. Vomiting stopped in the early hours of Thursday....finally. Maddox was wiped out though and needed lots of sleep.

We took the boys to both Hard Rock Cafe for their pins and Margaritaville for drinks.  It rained on us Tuesday and Wednesday. Good thing about Cancun though is it was warm so we just swam in the rain. It was a steady rain both days with a good downpour Wednesday afternoon. We were in the heated pool and were already wet so the rain didn't stop us! The resort is pretty nice. There were different themes for each day like pirates, celebrities, nature, etc. The food was good but we thought the food on cruises is better. The waterpark was a big draw for us and it didn't disappoint.

By Friday morning, we were ready to come home though. We enjoyed our time there but it's always time to go home.
