Weston Orchard & Vineyard

The boys had several days off from school so we headed to Weston to a newly opened place. They have apple trees, a pumpkin patch, corn maze and several fun things for kids to do. The boys loved the place and it will be great watching it grow the next several years.

The winner's reaction.

They love bounce pillows!

The obstacle course ended with a zip line. It took Maddox a few tries to get it figured out. He didn't like that it abruptly ends and jerks you.

We wound our way through a small corn maze.

The corn pit was a close second fave. They said it made their skin soft after being in it. They didn't want to leave.

Silly Boys

Ace thinks he is hiding from us, lol.

The boys got a tent. They love to sleep in it and play in/around it. So cute!

Royals Game

We got in one last game for the season. The boys are mostly there for the snacks, lol.

Soccer Time

Maddox was excited to finally have his games start. The team did great as whole for their first game and Maddox managed to get a goal towards the end of the game.

Brothers

The bond they have is amazing. Melts my heart when they are so incredibly nice and encouraging to each other. It makes the times they fight disappear and like I never heard the slamming door, lol.

First Day of 5th Grade

Macen wasn't as excited to start back but he came home pretty happy. It helped a lot that he went to this school previously so not everything was completely new to him.

First Day of 1st Grade

He's pretty excited for school! And even more excited that he will get to ride the bus with Macen each day.

Soccer Tournament

Macen's team played in a tournament already and ended up in the championship game. It took us all by surprise since majority of the team is new to each other. They played great as a team and held the score down. They came in 2nd but I think everyone - coaches, players and parents - were pretty proud.

New Members of the Family

Our home was too quiet with Mo and Myles gone.  So Ace (black) and Ash (gray) are the newest members of the household. Ace has quite the personality and is a busy body always wanting to play. Ash came to us sick and very underweight so he is still catching up. He is pretty calm and is my snuggle bug. They have provided some much needed entertainment.

Royals vs Cardinals

We couldn't miss the Royals/Cardinals game. The boys got in some playground time and some racing challenges before we headed to our seats.

Lightning Soccer

Macen made the competitive soccer team in Leavenworth. So we are traveling to locations within Kansas City for his games. He will play almost year round now with probably only a month off in the summer.

Zoo Time

We got in a trip to the zoo before the end of summer. We all enjoyed the Red Panda chillin' and riding the Sky ride back from Africa.

British Soccer Camp

The boys attended the British Soccer Camp again but it was much different than previous years. They were use to over a 100 kids but all divided up into age groups. There were only 14 kids total this time so a bit of an adjustment for them. The last day, the coaches got in the middle of a circle and the kids could soak them. Always a favorite way to end camp!

Myles

I guess he needed to be with Mo more than us. Just 3 weeks after losing Mo, we had to say goodbye to Myles too. He could be a sweetheart but he had a mean streak. Myles loved to talk to us and chatter at the birds through the window. He loved to play and pretty much played non stop until he was 8. We had him until he was almost 12 and we're pretty lucky he chose us.

Trampoline Time

This finally happened. We've been waiting to have a yard big enough for a trampoline.
