The tree is up

Macen was interested in helping with the lights this year.

Maddox liked the tree. Now with both boys helping to decorate it, I'm pretty sure we are going to have to buy new ornaments in another year or two. Only 1 was broken while decorating it so we'll see if that is it for the year, lol. Oh and Macen named the tree piney.

And while we decorated the tree, the other boys fought over who would get to climb it first.

16 months

Maddox loves the viking hat. He walks around with it on alot.

Macen taught him to go down the slide feet first awhile back and now its the only way he will go down.

It seems he loves soup. He was dipping crackers in chili the other night and going to town.

If Maddox needs to get anywhere in the house, he gallops there. He started doing this a couple of months after he learned to walk and then stopped. Now for the last month, he gallops all over the place.

He also has secret hiding places in the living room that we have recently discovered. I was watching him play one day when he went to Macen's chair (a big chair that has a foot rest) and pulled out a sword from between the padded material that appears on the outside and the board that starts the foot rest - hopefully that makes sense- anyway there is a little pocket there that goes from one side to the other. I continued to watch him put the sword in and out and then he put more things in there. Small things he pushed so far in he couldn't get them so I got them out for him. Several nights later we are all in the living room and he is playing contently. James is in his place on the sofa with the foot rest out. Maddox starts saying "mom, mom, mom". I go over to see where he is pointing at and on the back part of the sofa the material gaps when James has the foot rest up. I reach in there and pull out Maddox's security blankie that has been missing for months. I had always assumed he threw it away because he went through a faze where he would attempt to throw away socks if they were left in the living room. I had always watched him do it but wondered how I didn't see his blankie in the trash. So he has a 2 places to stash things in the living room now, lol.

Maddox has been teething again so nights are restless and he has become picky with his food. I guess not just picky but not interested in eating as much as he had been. Maddox loves brushing his teeth. He has been showing some interest in tv shows like Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse, Agent Oso and Team Umizoomi. He is also waving hello and goodbye to people in stores now and finally giving us kisses on his own free will. We love those!

Definitely my child

I was making cookies for our school spaghetti dinner and as I put the last batch in the oven I turn around to find Maddox had found the bowl. There wasn't enough left for a cookie but definitely enough toddler bites left. One proud momma!

Trick or Treating

Getting ready to head out into the neighborhood.

Maddox didn't do too bad. He was eager to run after Macen to each house but was confused once he got close to the doors. When he first started he kept wanting to go into the houses.

Think he is excited to be trick or treating?!

Maddox did great riding in the wagon and watching everyone. A couple of times he would grab his bag and we would let him out to get some candy.

Maddox LOVES chocolate so he couldn't wait to start eating the stash. The boys loved it and since it was our first time in this neighborhood, we got a good idea on how Halloween goes around here. Our entire neighborhood was crazy busy for 3 hrs straight! Good to know for next year.
