Macen is very social and can make friends anywhere he goes. He picks up new concepts very quickly. He loves going places but is always eager to get back home and chill. We couldn't be more proud to have him as our son. He has blessed us so, so much these last 5 years!

5 years old
What an amazing 5 years we have had with Macen! He has grown into quite the young boy. He wakes up happy (most of the time) and has a love of life with a very positive attitude. Can't ask for much more. Currently his is really into Lego Ninjago, Star Wars and Angry Birds. He is so into Ninjago that he asked if we could change his name to Lloyd. We vetoed that so he told us we could just call him Lloyd. Haha!

We have a walker!
Maddox starting walking last week. It's been a blast for all of us to watch him let go of objects and take off. So, so cute when they start walking!
Maddox Dancing
Maddox dances on his knees and it's pretty funny. he has moved all the way across the living room dancing.
Happy Birthday Macen!
Good Morning Birthday Boy!
Macen opening some of his birthday gifts. Maddox got him an Imaginext toy and as soon as he opened it, he ran to Maddox and gave him a huge hug. It was adorable! Macen has a slight fascination with Imaginext stuff, lol. Macen had been asking all day if we got him some Ninjagos for his birthday so he was thrilled to open 2 more ninjas and 2 snakes. We ended his day with eating at his favorite place - McDonald's.
Happy Birthday Dude! We love you!
5th Birthday Party
Macen had a Star Wars themed party. A slight challenge for this Star Wars illiterate mom. We had Yoda Soda, light saber pretzel rods along with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper topped cupcakes. We made an attempt with Star Wars stencils to top cupcakes with cocoa and powdered sugar. I'd say it was a partail success and partial fail and it took 4 people to get the job done, lol.
The kids went on an asteroid hunt (Star Wars fruit snacks and m&ms wrapped in foil).
Then it was time for the Darth Vader pinata. The kids loaded up on candy.
And the party wasn't complete without the R2D2 and lego ice.
A great time and thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate his birthday!
Zoo time!
We went to the zoo with Uncle Ed, Aunt Jennifer and cousin Claire and it was a perfect day for it. Aunt Jennifer had a scavenger hunt of animals for Macen and Claire and it kept them entertained and focused.
Macen and Ed took a camel ride.
We came upon the hippos during an info feed and it was interesting and gross at the same time, lol.

Fun times!
We headed to Fritz's for lunch. The boys loved all the trains going around.
And then off to Great Wolf Lodge. Ken and Stacey invited us to hang with them at the waterpark and everyone had a great time. Macen was all about the slides. He went down all of them - big and small, dark and winding. Maddox hung in the baby pool for a bit before we got on a tube and floated the lazy river. Stacey suggested it was a great place for a nap so I had high hopes Maddox would crash for a bit and he did. So momma and Maddox floated while dad and Macen went from slide to slide, floating and swimming around the lazy river. No pics though since we were all having a blast. These were captured just before we left. Thanks for a great weekend Ken and Stacey!
