Our next stop was downtown Memphis. We got some bbq at Central BBQ and then headed to Beale St. The boys picked out pins at Hard Rock. Hard to believe it has been almost 18 years since James and I were at this Hard Rock. It was Memorial Day, a Monday, so Beale St was pretty quiet. We had plenty of photo ops with guitars and wall murals though.

Memphis, TN
Our first stop on vacation was Memphis, TN. We went to the Bass Pro shaped in pyramid. There is an elevator in the center that takes you to the top where you step out and look over the city. Maddox was actually nervous and stayed near the doors. He didn't want to step out on the platform and look over the railing.

End of Another Soccer Season
James counted the boys' games since August - 88 in total. I don't know about the boys but we are exhausted, lol. It's sad to see some of the families move away from both teams but thankful we got to know and watch them for the year. Macen will have to move onto another club for the fall since there isn't an age group available for him in Leavenworth. For now, are taking a short (too short) breather from soccer. Great job boys!

Sporting KC game
Macen wanted to celebrate his birthday with a Sporting KC game. They had a home game the weekend after his birthday so after 1st Communion and a soccer tournament game, we ended a very busy weekend with some pro soccer.

1st Communion
Maddox made his 1st Communion and we couldn't be prouder of this step in faith. He was beaming once he had his clothes on right before we headed to church.
This is one of Maddox's soccer teammates, Sophia. Right after mass, they had to jet off to a tournament game. So glad we got a pic with Father.

Happy 12th Birthday Macen!
12?! Where did the time go?
We surprised him with a phone for his birthday. It made his day and every day since, lol. It was a low key day with school and then some Chik-Fil-A for dinner. He wanted to go to a Sporting KC game for his birthday so we did that the following weekend when they were in town. We love you Macen!

Soccer Life
Ready for some games!
The laundry that follows! The picture (and all the black) doesn't even begin to explain what is in this pile. I believe there are 5 pairs of soccers socks, 5 shorts, 8 shirts, 2 hoodies, 4 shin guards and 4 layering pieces.
Last weekend was by far one of our busiest soccer weekends. Both boys were in tournaments but at different locations. Macen's team had a regular league game thrown in there too. I don't remember which games were won and which were lost but I do know the boys did what they loved and did it well. James and I love watching them play and what an honor to watch them play that many games in a 48 hr period. We ended the weekend exhausted but happy!
