Soccer Time
Macen started soccer this week. And what is not to love - a boy, a ball and lots of running around. Before the first practice began, Macen's coach was trying to learn all their names and after Macen told her his, he quickly chimed in with "You can just call me Scrogin". Looks like he has the informal part of sports down.

13 months
He couldn't wait for us to all sit down and eat. He kept swiping from his tray.
Completely motionless as he listens to the music.
He does this all the time now. Even in his crib when I get him after naps sometimes.
Maddox is as active as ever. He pretty much runs everywhere especially when he hears "eat" in the mornings and "bath" at night. Sometimes I think he gets a little skip in his run. He has stepped up his dance moves. He went from slow mo rocking back and forth to a fast paced stepping in place.
I am struggling to get him off the bottle and paci. He only uses the paci to lay down to sleep with an occasional instance where he will actually sleep with it. We don't let him walk around with it when he is awake so not sure how hard to push this one. At least not with his back teeth coming in right now. We are down to 3 bottles a day but he just won't drink milk out of a straw cup or sippy. Hopefully in the next month we'll make more progress.
He has gotten 3 new teeth this past month and is working on at least 1 more. Thankfully he is very easy to soothe back to sleep while teething. Maddox has taken up talking to Myles by clicking his tongue. James and Myles have a special language where James makes sounds at him and Myles always responds. Myles won't even do it with me but loves James talking to him. Maddox has listened to James enough to try it himself so when Myles comes into sight or he hears his bell, he starts clicking away. It's pretty cute!

First Day of Kindergarten
Macen headed off to Kindergarten this morning! Hard to believe he is that big already. I think he was a little anxious once we we got inside the building because there were kids everywhere. I had enough anxiety for the both of us too.
He wasn't willing to answer many questions when we picked him up. The first thing he said was he didn't get to play. Someone had been use to the way preschool runs the last 2 years, lol. Then he told us "I don't want to talk about it right now". I guess we'll be hearing that for the remaining schools years, lol.

Leavenworth County Fair
We took the boys to the fair since we really miss this about Germany. We did have a bit of an eye opener on how expensive this fair was compared to the ones in Germany. We were shocked when Macen said he wanted to go down this huge slide. I really thought he would chicken out at the top but he didn't.
He looked kinda scared coming down but when he got up he said "That was awesome".
He enjoyed this turn much more on the way down, lol.
We left a little earlier than planned due to a nasty storm that came through. We were rained and hailed on as we made our way back to the car. As we made the drive back home, we not only saw 1 rainbow but 2.

An Afternoon at Loose Park
We spent some time at the Splashground. The boys loved it! Macen found a friend to play with as usual and Maddox spent his time wondering what was going on with the water and why he kept getting sprayed.
Then we headed over the Rose Garden and walked through it. Very pretty and smelled wonderful!

Somebody doesn't like spaghetti
This is the extent of the mess he made with it. And actually, most of what is on him is applesauce. He did taste it twice but didn't like the thinness of the spaghetti. God forbid we have a meal the 4 of us can all eat together.

A Day of Play
Finally a day where we could all relax and do nothing but play.
Dancing
Hiding under the blanket
They spun in circles for a good 20 mins before taking a break only to return to more spinning.
Macen deserved this and luckily he didn't mind.
Hello.
Knuckle belly
Maddox loves this most of the time and I'm pretty sure the other times he is wondering what the heck he did to deserve it..
Stacking blocks. Something we work on a lot and he has finally caught on. Of course he loves knocking them over just as quickly.
