New York - Railbiking

 We took a drive over to New York and went railbiking. Totally worth the drive! The boys doubted me that it would be but they had a blast.

Vermont - Ben & Jerry's

 James had a beer course to finish up in Vermont so the boys and I joined him. We kept busy during the day while he did his thing.

Our first stop was Ben & Jerry's

 James and I had done this when we lived in Colorado but wanted the boys to experience it as well. They were nervous but ended up really having fun. None us fell out so that was a big relief for them. Bonus for Macen, we saw an otter.

Cog Railway

We rode the newly opened Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak. It was snowing when we got up there and the wind was blowing making it pretty cold. The boys made a quick bathroom stop, we got a few pictures and spent the rest of the time on the train waiting to go back down. 

Colorado

 We didn't get a vacation last year due to Covid and had planned on going to Colorado. So we made a quick trip to Colorado Springs and Denver over the Memorial Day weekend.

We spent some time in Manitou Springs before we got on the Cog Railway. Macen taught Maddox how to play pool.

We got together with some Army friends and it sooo good to see them!

Last Day of School

 Macen finished up 8th grade and Maddox finished 4th grade. They made it through the school year with going fully remote from Thanksgiving through New Year. Neither one got Covid nor were they quarantined due to close contact. All in all, it was a pretty successful year and they handled it like champs.
