Indianapolis Zoo

We went to the zoo for Maddox's birthday. Many of the animals were pretty busy so we had a lot of entertainment. 

 This little guys had a surge of energy or something. He would speed through the water and then "fly" to where he is pictured here and then repeat.

The meerkats wrestled and played nonstop. I think the boys would have stayed and watched them all day.

The zoo has a small splash pad so the boys got to cool down for a bit.

Happy 5th Birthday Maddox!

This funny, onry, quick witted little guy is now 5! Craziness! He was super excited for his birthday and was up at 5:50am, ready to open presents. He insisted we sing happy birthday to him before he opened his presents and when he blew out his candle. At bedtime, he stated we forgot to sing happy birthday to him at Chuck E Cheese, lol. We spent the day at the Indianapolis Zoo and then headed to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. He said it was the best day ever!

Books, Books and More Books

The boys weren't that impressed with the library reading program last summer so I had to come up with something different for this year. Pinterest is awesome and I found reading bingo sheets. They have been reading like crazy this summer! They have now finished 2 entire bingo sheets and are aiming for 2 more before school starts. One of the rewards was mini golf. It was hot but 3 of us lasted, lol. Maddox was done half way through. I'm thinking mini golf is not his thing.

Zoo Camp

Maddox participated in zoo camp this week and got to hang out with what appears to be a camera shy sloth. He said he had a lots of fun!

Summer Days

We've squeezed in some fun between tball, baseball, vbs and lego camp.

This summer we did the Pringles challenge with 14 different flavors. They each got 7 right and several weeks later, they are still eating Pringles, lol.

 Macen had some friends over and we made boats out of a pool noodle. 5 of the 8 boats made it across the pond. The boys waited patiently on the other side for them.

The boys made some homemade root beer and will get to taste it in the next day or two.

We've gone on lots of bike rides this summer.

Such sadness in the last picture! Macen was at a sleepover and Maddox missed him. Sometimes he is so lost without Macen :)

Happy 4th of July

We headed for a parking garage on campus to watch the fireworks downtown. Poor Maddox kept getting photobombed in all his pictures.

We shot off our fireworks on Saturday night since we were in for lots of rain.
