Gutentag (Hello)

The boys in their German attire.

Macen actually mentioned last night he would be okay moving back to Germany. Maybe he misses the traveling as much as we do???

Parent Teacher Conferences

Macen has been in school a little over 2 months now and is thriving. He loves school and all the new friends he has made. It's pretty amazing what is taught in school now compared to when James and I were in kindergarten. Macen is already writing sentences and I'm sure we were just learning our alphabet back then.

Hard to believe in just over 4 years this is how far Macen has come.

15 months

We are well into toodler hood! Maddox's temperment is starting to come out. So far he is into hitting or throwing things when he is told no/not to do something. Hopefully we work through that sooner rather than later, lol.

He gave up the bottle with no issues in the past month. We'll see if that can be said for the paci. While he does not use it to sleep, he does hold onto it and his little blankie while he sleeps so he can use it as soon as he wakes up. It may have become more of a security object for the hand rather than the mouth.

He started coloring recently and he really liked it. His vocabulary has surprised me a bit and maybe I just dont remember when Macen started repeating things more and more. Maddox says all kinds of things like clothes, socks, quack quack. The other night he was getting medicine and when it was gone, he asked for more. When I laughed and said no more medicine, he dissolved into a crying fit. Funny stuff! He also answers Yessss when we ask him questions instead of shaking his head yes or no.

Our little man is 22lbs (25%) and 32" (85%).

Carolyns Pumpkin Patch

We headed to my favorite pumpkin patch yesterday. This was one of the big things I missed while we were in Germany. I think there are few pumpkin patches there in general but none were close to us.

Maddox trying to figure out the Sound Garden. He did bang them together a couple of times but he was more interested in listening to the chain rattle.

He could have cared less for the goats. He had no interest in feeding them and gave them blank looks as he watched them from afar, lol.

Heading out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin.

Macen watching the tractor get more and more grounded into the mud. It was a mess out there and we slid down the minor slope from the driven path into the field.

James and Macen were thrilled to find we were being rescued by a blue tractor :)

The boys searched and searched for the perfect pumpkin aka a small one we wouldn't have to lug around with difficulty.

Maddox on top of a hay bale trying to escape.

Fall Festival

Saturday was a busy day for us. After the ALS Walk at Riverfront Park we headed to the Fall Festival in Liberty.

Macen waiting for his balloon sword. He was the last recipient of the day so the clown also made him a holster for his sword. Talk about one thrilled little boy!

Participating in the pedal car races

A pirate ship "ride". There was a bell, a plank, a ball pit, rope netting to climb, etc. It had it all with a slide to get off the ship. Macen liked it so much he did this one 3 times.

This one has been a favorite at the carnivals this year. Unfortuantely his sword holster popped when he finished this one. Not so much the thrilled little boy anymore!

Both boys were completely exhausted by the time we got home Saturday night.
