Hard Rock Cafe

Next we headed to Hard Rock for the boys' first Hard Rock experience in the US. While we were in Europe, we started letting Macen pick a guitar pin from each Hard Rock he went to and we'd also pick one up for Maddox. James had already been to this one but the boys needed their pins.

Afterwards, Macen fed the fish there at Union Station.

Butterfly House

We kicked off our St Louis vacation at the Butterfly House and the playground nearby. The boys enjoyed all the butterflies flying around them.

Schlitterbahn Kansas City

We spent the day at Schlitterbahn Waterpark. James and Macen spent time on the lazy river and going down the slides while Maddox and I lounged in Kiddie Haven. Maddox was all about chillin' in the loungers. He eventually got brave and was walking out into the water. Apparently James and Macen's tube got knocked over not once but twice. As you can imagine, Macen was not happy about it, lol. There is an area with a pirate ship and a deeper swimming pool that Macen loved playing.

Here is the conversation coming home from the tball game tonight:

Macen: I am in love with the girl #9 (Macen's number is 9 on his tball shirt)

Mom: I thought you loved Aislyn (she was a girl in his pre-k class that he talked about marrying all the time)

Macen: I love all the girls

Dad: Are you going to be a player?

Macen: Or a lover


Oh my lord, James and I about died. Where in the world does he learn this stuff?

11 months old

Brother taught him how to play and hide in the blanket.

He is all about rockin' the puppy.

Maddox is quite the walker and I think he is even running now. No stopping him! He learned how to shake his head yes and no in the past month. So he has been trying to figure out how to shake his head yes (it is quite the dramatic up and down, lol) while walking. There has been a lot of tumbling in the process but he is getting it down. The head shaking no has been a lot of fun especially when he uses it right on que.

He is still all about copying us which we get a kick out of. He continues to try new foods. He isn't too sure about the textures of food right from our plate but we are grateful he is willing to try anything. Maddox is now sleeping through the night. I had been dreading getting him there and then he was sick and teething. But the first night he was better, I just put his paci back in, gave him his blankie, left the room and he never made a peep. Yes it was that easy! My, I hope he potty trains just as quick and easy, lol.

Next month we celebrate his 1st birthday and it's just unbelievable it's already that time. He is at an amazingly fun age and we are loving it.

Pool time

We got the kiddie pool set up and Maddox was not a fan. I think the water was too cold for him and he was not happy when I turned on the hose for the dragon to spray water out of its mouth.

After he escaped the pool, he wanted far away from it. Haha!

Macen on the other hand loved it. He wanted in it when I first set it up and the water had no time to warm up.

So instead of playing in the water, Maddox spent his time wandering around in the grass and attempting to climb the hill. As you can tell, he never made it up there.
