Fair Oak Farms

We celebrated the end of school by getting out of town for the day. We needed it, it was perfect weather and a pretty interesting place to see. We didn't end up doing the dairy tour but I imagine it was pretty interesting too. They make their own cheese and ice cream (and chocolates). We didn't sample any cheese so we'll have to do that another time. We did enjoy their yummy ice cream and chocolates though.

We went to the pig farm which is for breeding purposes only. They average over 200 piglets being born a day.

This piglet was just 10 mins old when he was brought out for us to see. He was one of 6.

The boys gave the pig an ultrasound. Macen found 14 piglets and Maddox found 10.

Maddox had to go on the smaller course.

I'm not sure how many feet up he was but there were 3 levels and Macen went on all of them. He loved it!

While Macen finished his rope course, Maddox played in the pig house and had fun on the bacon slide.

A little game of Operation with a pig.

They wound their way through a maze and found the cheese.

I do believe the big bubble on the ground was their favorite part.

This calf was born just as we walked in the doors. They are behind a glass wall but you can watch the entire process. As we were leaving, another cow was brought in and 2 hooves and a tongue (yes, just its tongue) was already out.

Last Day of 2nd Grade

Macen missed the bus this morning so we scrambled around getting him there. Hopefully the rest of his day goes well.  I think we are all ready for the school year to end and start our summer fun.

Memorial Day

We got in a morning walk/hike at Clegg Gardens. The boys rock hunted and we got close enough to the river for them to throw some rocks in for a bit.

And then it was more water time. Trooper tried drinking the water and then spent the rest of the time fetching his toys around the water instead of going through it.

Macen has become a monkey as of late. Maddox had to lifted up there so he could have some fun too.

The sprinkler created mud and it didn't take the boys long to find it. His mud was not intentional.

Guess who did not win this battle?

His mud was intentional, lol.

We couldn't have ended the long weekend any better. Such a relaxing 3 days that was long overdue!

Wheels on the Pavement

He eagerly went to town pedaling. He needed some help yesterday but did most of it on his own today. He's pretty proud to be on a big boy bike now.

Most Comfortable Spot?

Maddox is starting to fight his naps so a lot of playing has been going on during nap time. Thankfully he stays in his room the entire time. Today he drifted off for a bit and I found him like this ... under his bed, completely covered by his blanket.

That's a Wrap

Another season ends. Macen was much more aggressive (in a good way) this season. Now if only we can keep him in the position he is suppose to be playing. It doesn't matter if he is on defense or offense, he is running all over the field after the ball.

Preschool Graduation

Maddox completed his first year of preschool. Since he has to keep up with an older brother he is so proud to have his own school, teacher, friends and pajama parties. He had an amazing teacher and I am so grateful she started him on his school path with nothing but enthusiasm for school. We are  going to have to work on his aspiration of being Pikachu when he grows up though.

That's It

He is not suppose to be up there and he knows it. Just as Mo isn't suppose to pee anywhere but his box, Trooper isn't suppose to tear up whatever number of dog bed he is on now and Maddox isn't suppose to have a 40 minute temper tantrum. 4 out of the 5 beings living in this house with me right now have been in trouble today. Macen's only saving grace is that he was at school all day and now we have Maddox's soccer and his baseball tonight. I was sure Myles was going to be the only one who didn't get into trouble today. I should have known yesterday went way too smooth for it to last :)

Baseball Games Are Here

Not only are we knee deep in soccer with both boys but also with baseball this spring. Macen doesn't enjoy it as much as he does soccer but he is eager to be there each time and has fun. I think he's just out there to get a slide into home plate whenever he can :)

Happy 8th Birthday

Macen had a very Pokemon birthday. We finished the day off with going to McDonalds for dinner. Hard to believe he is 8 already! Happy Birthday big guy!
